CENTRE FOR THE PROTECTION OF REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS
CEPRI - Casa Rui, inaugurated in 2017, is a legal clinic created within the Sérgio Vieira de Mello Chair (CSVM), headquartered at Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa (FCRB).
With a team of Protection Agents made up of professionals of Law, International Relations, and Social and Political Sciences, CEPRI- Casa Rui offers free assistance to asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants in matters related to Refugee and Immigration Law.
CEPRI-Casa Rui specializes in handling cases involving gender-based violence, persecution based on sexual orientation and/or gender identity, and unaccompanied or separated minors.
About the Casa de Rui Barbosa Foundation (FCRB)
The purpose of the Casa de Rui Barbosa Foundation (FCRB) is the development of culture, research, teaching, dissemination, and appreciation of the work and life of Rui Barbosa. In this way, the institution seeks to contribute to the knowledge of cultural diversity and to the strengthening of citizenship.
About the Sérgio Vieira de Mello Chair (CSVM)
The Sérgio Vieira de Mello Chair Project (CSVM) is an initiative aimed at disseminating international refugee law, promoting academic training, and training teachers and students in these issues. The Chair more recently incorporated the provision of community services directly to refugees and their inclusion in university life as part of their main objectives.
